Due to the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, this page has been created to keep survivors and stakeholders informed of major changes impacting the Inquiry.

Current status

  • Contact Centre remains fully operational - During this time calls may ring for longer than usual while they are transferred from one system to another. Please stay on the call, your call will be answered.
  • Private sessions are currently suspended – Royal Commission staff are working directly with survivors who have scheduled private sessions
  • Redress public hearing (23 March to 3 April) is deferred
  • Most Inquiry staff are working from home but Royal Commission remains operational
  • A Royal Commission COVID-19 Crisis Management Team has been put in place to manage developments
  • Wellbeing support is available to survivors impacted by the suspension of our face to face services. Please contact us if you need support
