Festivities kicked off under cloudy skies and humid temperatures at the annual Te Rā o te Raukura whanau event last Saturday in Lower Hutt. Royal Commission staff were there to answer questions, offer information about our mahi and provide support.

By 11am, with the sun breaking through and the music from the main stage pumping the crowd was slowly but surely building up. There were a range of requests from people interested to know about the Royal Commission’s role, with others seeking more specific information about how to engage or keen to find out the support for themselves or their whānau.

Our team answered questions and handed out information, helping to share the message and encouraging people to get involved.

In the coming weeks Royal Commission staff will be present at other community events.
