Tēnā koe, I was born and raised in Wellington. I spent five years working in the Ministry of Justice in various roles before starting a law degree at Victoria University while continuing part-time work with the Ministry and balancing legal research for a Criminal Barrister in my final year. As a graduate I moved to Whanganui to work as a Crown Prosecutor and Staff Solicitor under the recently appointed Crown Solicitor, Lance Rowe, now a District Court Judge. After almost five years in Whanganui I moved north to New Plymouth to begin work as a criminal defence barrister. It is through this role I have been privileged to support and advocate for my clients and vulnerable participants in our criminal justice system. I pride myself on being approachable and relatable to my clients and I look forward to being able to extend that work as part of the Legal Assistance Panel for the Abuse in Care Inquiry. Ngā Mih
