This investigation will examine and report on abuse and neglect of children and young people in residences run by the State.

Linda Hrstich-Meyer is currently General Manager of Historic Claims at MSD, and has held a variety of roles within MSD for over 20 years.

Garth Young has been employed by MSD or its predecessors since 1984 and has held a number of roles.

Philip Knipe, Chief Legal Advisor, will give evidence on behalf of the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Simon MacPherson is one of three witnesses giving evidence on behalf of the Ministry of Social Development (MSD).

Sonja Cooper and Amanda Hill will expand on the evidence relating to redress that they provided to the Inquiry at the Contextual Hearing in October/November 2019.

Gay Rowe will give evidence as the sister of, and guardian for, Paul Beale.

Dr Fiona Inkpen will give evidence on behalf of Stand Children’s Services Tū Māia Whānau (Stand Tū Māia), describing the historic abuse claims received by Stand Tū Māia in relation to Health Camps, and the trauma-competent, bi-cultural approach that Stand Tū Māia has developed for responding to these claims. She will draw on those experiences to make recommendations for how these types of claims should be addressed by all agencies going forward.
