This paper provides a high-level overview of relevant international and domestic human rights law on redress. There is a significant amount of international and domestic law relevant to redress and during the Inquiry expert evidence on redress will be considered.

Information has been drawn from a range of publicly available sources or form information provided to the Royal Commission. It has been produced to provide context relevant to the public hearing into civil claims and civil litigation redress processes being held by the Royal Commission in March 2020 alongside the wider work into redress under the terms of reference.
