Wayne Gowland identifies as Māori but describes how being moved around led to a disconnection from his Māori culture and heritage. Mr Gowland shares his experience of being placed in various State care institutions followed by his placement at Marylands School in the late 1970s, where he was physically and sexually abused. Mr Gowland also describes his experience with the St John of God order’s redress process.
