Reference groups
The Royal Commission works with six Report Reference Groups. Report Reference Groups support and assist the Royal Commission to test its thinking and gain insights on areas of content relating to the Inquiry’s work programme.
Report Reference Group members include experts, academics, researchers, and those with lived experience in communities. Members have extensive networks in their respective areas. Collectively they bring knowledge and expertise and provide a range of personal and professional experience to the work of the Inquiry.
Report Reference Groups play an important role in reviewing material and contributing feedback on matters the Inquiry is considering. The six Report Reference Groups supporting the Royal Commission are:
Disability Reference Group
The Disability Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure a disability lens is taken across the work of the Inquiry and that the voices of disabled people are heard and recognised.
Mental Health Reference Group
The Mental Health Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure that the voices of those who have experienced or are experiencing mental distress are heard and recognised.
Deaf Reference Group
The Deaf Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure a Deaf lens is taken across the work of the Inquiry and that the voices of Deaf people are heard and recognised.
Pacific Reference Group
The Pacific Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure a Pasifika lens is taken across the work of the Inquiry and that the voices of Pacific people are heard and recognised.
Social Welfare Reference Group
The Social Welfare Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure a Social Welfare lens is taken across the work of the Inquiry.
Faith Report Reference Group
The Faith Report Reference Group assists the Royal Commission by providing advice to ensure a Faith lens is taken across the work of the Inquiry.
